As Scoop/Stack focused E&Ps continue to drill new oil wells that help America increase its energy independence, HCS Energy Consulting is providing contract CFO services and helping an oil reclamation company optimize its current operations and squeeze out every drop oil from the storage tanks. Though producers install equipment on the lease to separate oil and water, separation is never 100% complete and both basic sediment and water (BSW) end up at the bottom of oil tanks (often called the “Bottoms”) which needs to be periodically cleaned out. This BSW can’t be pipelined but must be trucked to reclamation sites who use a more extensive set of equipment to extract the remaining oil from the Bottoms. Oil reclamation is different than oil skimming which is often done at salt water disposal facilities, but the goal is the same, to squeeze out and resell every economic drop of oil. What do you think ?
